As a dog would interpret
As Tom and I walked to Patrick and Sarah's for dinner, we noticed a loud conversation between 2 women across the street. The conversation slooowly creeped to a high decibel, and then crying, pointing, pushing and shoving ensued. Not too violent, but enough to get my nosy self to ignore the converation Tom tried to start.
My best guess about the women - a mother and daughter spat, but I can't confirm that since I don't speak Mandarin. Later two other people tried to intervene, or "talk out" out the problem. The argument probably lasted at least 30 mins and they obviously didn't care that it happened on a busy street. Oh, and I didn't just stand on the street to watch - I could still see it through S & P's dining room window.
I felt both concerned and (morbidly) amused. Reality TV couldn't beat the front row seat I had. Although I couldn't understand a word, the tone and body language was enough for me to get that both people has issues. I felt like a dog trying to understand human language.

Well, it isn't terribly hard for you to ignore my conversations anyway, but yeah.. that was pretty amazingly loud.
