First weekend in March
This weekend couldn't be more heavenly, I just wish it would never end. The sun was shining on us after days and days of rain. I certainly don't envy anyone on the east coast or any other part of the world that is stilll experincing winter.
I got plenty of sleep and since I'm behind the times, I had a hunger to purchase music. So here's what I bought:
-Parachutes by Coldplay
yeah, yeah...super old, and I've heard it over and over again, but I never owned it. "Don't Panic" and "We Never Change" are my favorites
-Genius Loves Company by Ray Charles
he's still the man. i'm finally schooled in his finest hits, now it's time to listen to his final triumph
-Give Up by the Postal Service
i thought it was time to buy it and not steal it through Limewire
-Le Pop en duo: les chansons de la nouvelle scene francaise
part of my obsession with French music (ie. Tahiti 80, Phoenix, Frou Frou, Ivy -ok, only the lead singer is parisian). if you can read french, than you already know it's an an album of duets. i sampled it at the store and thought i should give it a try.
-Motifs by Paris Combo
kitchy, cocktail (and yes...french), fun music. Some use the word "cabaret" to describe this band, but that will scare some away. it's more than that...kind of a jazz fused with cabaret; dance music mixed with world beat thang.
Warm weather always puts me in a good mood. I can't wait to discover and buy more music.
