Lightsaber Duel!

23 Feb

The one movie I ALWAYS reference as one of my all-time favortite is “Star Wars”. Low and behold, my friends over at Systm did an entire episode on building lightsabers. As a bonus, R2D2 was in the house too!

Watch the full episode to get the lowdown on building your own lightsaber, and as a tease, here’s an awesome lightsaber duel extracted from that episode. Yay for geeky times!

I know, I know, my hair is all wrong. Short notice, k? Maybe I should dig up that Halloween pic of me with the white dress and the Leia hair.

I’m watching “The District”

How brilliant is this show? What a way to get our little MTV-ADD minds into the political game. So far only three episodes and I WANT MORE! Here’s the description from Newsweek:

Ever wondered what it would be like if the makers of MTV’s hit ‘The City’ made a reality show about Obama’s first 100 days? Wonder no more. Check back Mondays for new episodes.

I definitely subscribed to this show. On another note, as a web content producer I can’t help but say to myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”?

I got tagged in a meme thanks Mau! Which leads me to this short AI post. I think I’m gonna make a short prediction post before every results show. I spend A LOT of my time on this freakin’ show, so why not make it fun?

After the 1st round on Feb 17th. I predict the following 3 contestants will continue:

1. Danny Gokey (aka Robert Downey Jr and early fave) – easily best of the night
2. Alexis – Single mom with pink streaks. Dude, she got dirty!
3. Michael Sarver – because Simon told everyone to vote for him

Secretly, I hope I’m wrong about Michael and Anoop is the 3rd contestant.

Oh hairy days!

Posted this a few days ago on Flickr. If you have a pet, then you most certainly understand what’s happening here. Thing is, Jango is not done yet.

We don’t want our girl looking ratty and matty, so Tom diligently uses that instrument to de-shed her at the park. I take care of the nails and teeth.

Ah, she’s totally worth it :)

I am mostly a homebody

Just ask my husband and my co-workers, I honestly don’t like to go out anymore. I’m old, I own property and I like my couch & 52″ HDTV. I don’t really like to drink either, so what’s the point?  Although I’m in for a good restaurant and a nice glass of vino – home by 10:30pm, k?

I can’t make the excuse of having kids (’cause we don’t have any), but sometimes I can blame needing to get home to Jango (the dog). Most of the time, I honestly like being at home. It’s where I’m most comfortable and where I can relax (and I love to relax).

However, lately I’ve had some energy. On my calendar are A LOT of concerts I am attending, probably more than I’ve been to all last year. It’s almost as if I have time warped and begun working for KFOG again. Ok, it’s not really that drastic, but you get the point.

Here’s my 2009 concert calendar (so far):

I would love to see more shows (Raphael Saadiq at the Fillmore, for example), but I’m really choosy because I don’t like to go out and because of that darn economy.

What shows are you going to see (if any) this year?

I’ll sing these songs at a karaoke bar

Wow. I’ve been really busy since my last post. Whenever it gets close to shoot time, I really don’t have time for anything else. So here’s some content form one of my new favorite sites: Plinky!

Our Lips Are Sealed
by
Go-Go’s

No embarassment. I’ve sung it many times!

Dreams
by
Fleetwood Mac

Again, this is one of my favorite songs to sing. I rule with this Stevie vocal – heh.

Avril Lavigne

My Happy Ending

I’d just love to rock out to this. Never had a chance to sing it live, but I would try!
